Abby, Aidan, Gaetano & Jessica -
"Double Shark" Coaster
Aidan was the accountant. Gaetano was the constructor. Jessica was the measurer, but she was absent. Abby was the engineer. As the accountant, Aidan calculated prices, bought supplies and took over measurer's roll. As the constructor, Gaetano, helped with the final touches, constructed loops, and rolled the marble during trial runs. As the engineer, Abby, sketched out the roller coaster, labeled where kinetic and potential energy were occurring. She also added where the friction was taking place on the coaster. We started at the bottom and added a hill to get kinetic energy. Then the coaster went down a hill to get rid of the kinetic energy on the computer. We made a hill and then a bunch of loops. Our coaster cost $46.00 to build.
The difficulties we had were the loops and stopping our marbles. A success we had was adding another track at the end for the marble to have enough room to stop. That is how we made our marble stop. We also added a hill to make it more interesting!
